I am a PhD candidate with Oliver Hobert at Columbia University, where I study how the astounding diversity of cell types in the nervous system is generated. 

More broadly, I am interested in the evolution of biological novelty across scales. How do animals evolve new organelles, cell types, tissues, and behaviors to adapt to their environment?
